Comfortable and welcoming 16th century pub, which is open from 8 am for breakfast (contact the pub to confirm before visiting). The 12th century Lydford Castle is adjacent, and St. Petroc's Church (with the curious Watchmaker's Tomb and Epitaph) and Lydford Gorge (National Trust) are close by. The pub is situated on the NCN27 Devon Coast-Coast, Dartmoor Way and West Devon Way cycle/walking routes. Up to 3 St. Austell beers are available, supplemented by two (one in winter) ever changing guest beers, usually from Devon. The village is served by Plymouth CityBus 46 service Mon - Sat. Quiz night held every Wednesday evening in aid of the local school. Building work is currently improving the toilet facilities.
