The following pub and brewery news was reported at the Branch Social Meeting on Wednesday 6th September 2017.

Pub News

The Modbury Inn, Modbury, is now serving a House Beer, brewed by local brewery, Summerskills, named Airdale Ale at 4.1%; Royal Standard, Mary Tavy, has re-opened as a licensed café called Scrumptious; Market Inn, Tavistock, Whod Have Thought It Inn, Milton Combe and Rising Sun Inn, Compton, all enquired about the LocAle Scheme; Kings Head Tavern, Bretonside, re-opened with the appointment of the ex-manager of the Cherry Tree, Ham Drive, which remains open despite previous fears.

Brewery News

The Stannary Brewery will be relocating to the unit currently occupied by Tavistock Hire Centre within the Pixon Trading Centre, Tavistock; due to a number of reasons, Moorstone have temporarily stopped producing Cask Ales for the time being, with bottle conditioned beers still available as usual; new breweries found this month include Two Tone Beer, (Shebbear, N Devon), Darkplace, (East Devon), Croft, (Bath), Cosmic, (Bristol), and Fierce & Noble (Bristol).
